Dr. Mridul Chandra Sarmah

Dr Mridul Chandra Sarmah,is a retired scientist from Central Muga Eri Research and Training Institute,Jorhat.His domain expertise is in the area of Botany with specialization in Cytogenetics and Plant Breeding. and Eri and Muga sericulture.He was  associated with the Department of Atomic Energy, Govt. of India, Board of Research in Nuclear Sciences (BRNS), Bombay sponsored research project entitled “Bio-molecular aspects of certain members of family Solanaceae” at Gauhati University as Senior Research Fellow during 1984 to 1986 leading to Ph. D Degree.

During his tenure with the Central Silk Board,Dr Sharma worked extensively in in Muga research,Mulberry extension and development and Eri extension and development.

Dr Sarmah has made a valuable academic contribution in the field of sericulture through his publications in national and international journals and books
