Prafulla Kumar Saikia

Prafulla Kr Saikia, who dedicated himself for economic development through enterprise creation. A topper from Guwahati university started his carrier as Asst Manager, DIC Kamrup in 1982, retired as "Consultant Investment Promotion" of Industries and Commerce Department in August 2019. Prior to that he was in the post of Additional Director of Industries & Commerce, Managing Director AIIDC, Mission Director National Mission on Food Processing, General Manager NEDFi, etc. His capability on policymaking, rules and law, IT architecture on e-governance and ease of doing business, infrastructure creation being recognised by everywhere.

Participated in training in NISIET, NISBUD, College of Agricultural Banking, Havard Business School and many more.

A prolific writer too, published various books, compendiums etc through the department, popular amongst them are Padakshep ( footstep ), Bittar Anneswanot ( In search of Finance ), Swaniujon ( Self employment ), Resource Mapping 2012, etc etc.

On 15th October, his new publication "Kiba Eta Koribo Pora Hole ..." ( If I could do something ) hit the book stand, 2nd edition took up within 12 days.

Apart from that, last two years, aggressively working with the farmers for producing fruits and vegetables, initiated training at farm level for pre and post-harvest, introduces new crops in the fields, networking amongst the farmers and buyers, arranging export of the various product to abroad. He is recognised as Friend, Philosopher and Mentor of entrepreneurs of Assam.
